My Rating: 3.89/4 (aka An eerily great watch)
One line summary: A woman reunites with her father and the familial truths unfold.
The Deets: This is a fun, mysterious, and wonderfully creepy film where you never quite know the truth behind each character. There are too many delicious twists to share much of the plot, but suffice it to say that you should watch it and let it soak in. So many Hitchcockian influences, which are wonderfully executed, and the excellent Laure Calamy in the lead role is spot on (as she was in the superb “Full Time”) – she’s actually one of those actors that I will watch anything she’s in. Don’t be put off by the title, just follow the path all the way to the last shot.
Perfect for: If you’re in the mood for a dark comedy meets thriller meets some French wit. And especially if you like Laure Calamy because she’s in every scene.
Where to watch: It’s available on Hulu if you have it, or you can rent it elsewhere.
Food pairing: Something with anchovies.
