“Confess, Fletch”

My Rating: 3.57/4 (aka Just barely worth watching)

One line summary: Irwin Maurice Fletcher returns, only to get mixed up in art heist murder mystery.

The Deets: So a confession: The original “Fletch” w Chevy Chase is one of my all-time favorite comedies and quoted movies in the Kogan/Spivack household. With that out of the way, watching this next installment w Jon Hamm as Fletch was admittedly at a bit of risk because the bar is so high. But as long as you go into this one with a low enough bar, you won’t be disappointed. It’s funny, but not that funny, and it keeps you guessing just enough to keep you interested, but you don’t really care that much – but it does move with a good pace, and there are some nice homage throwbacks to the OG “Fletch” that I really did appreciate. It was also filmed right in our neighborhood in Boston!

Perfect for: If you enjoy watching Jon Hamm prance around, and if you just need something fun on an evening that ends in D A Y.

Where to watch: Available across the streaming spectrum, including Hulu and Paramount+ and Apple TV.

Food pairing: Bowl of pasta, shape of your choice.
