“About Elly”

My Rating: 3.86/4

One line summary: A group of friends plan to enjoy a seaside villa, but mysteries and lies slowly unfold.

The Deets: This is the fifth Asghar Farhadi film we have seen, and there is a reason we can’t stay away… similar to his others, this is an excellent ensemble narrative that begins with best intentions, and then unravels with deceit, conflict, and moral dilemma. The camera stays close, and you are left unsettled. But satiated.

Perfect for: Those who like Farhadi’s films, and if you’re into psychologically tense plots.
