“Big Night”

My Rating: 3.86/4

One line summary: In 1950s New Jersey, two Italian brothers struggle for their restaurant, relying on one big night to save them.

The Deets: I once engaged in a passionate verbal dispute about the brilliance of this film’s last scene – one of my all-time favorites. This is a film made by and starring an Italian who loves food (Stanley Tucci); its heart is big, its soundtrack by Louis Prima, and – like life – it’s messy, unexpected, uncertain. But worth every bite. (see what I did there?)

Perfect for: Foodie film lovers, but just make sure you watch this one on a full stomach.

Where to watch: You gotta rent it. Go do it.
