My Rating: 3.99/4 (aka Supremely a Classic)
One line summary: A college graduate goes looking for his future.
The Deets: If I were to make a top-ten list, this film would surely be on it. The 1967 classic that made Dustin Hoffman a star, and made the word “plastics!” famous – it’s pretty much flawless, and the artistry by which director Mike Nichols incorporates the music of Simon & Garfunkel is just too perfect, capturing the mood of the film and the times. He might have also crafted my favorite ending of all time, borrowed graciously by Cameron Crowe for “Say Anything.” You know what they say about imitation.
Perfect for: You just need to experience this one, at least once, and it’s always worth re-watching (for someone like me).
Where to watch: You gotta rent it, and you obviously need to.
