My Rating: 3.67/4 (aka Worth a watch on the plane)
One line summary: A juror and family man faces a moral test.
The Deets: We could all take a lesson from the ageless Clint (Eastwood); the guy is 94 and counting, he’s won multiple Oscars, and he’s still creating – releasing movies that still hold up, even if he’s not acting in them anymore. This is another solid one, and great for a recent flight because it moves at a swift pace and you’re not quite sure how it will end (even though you think you know how it should). I will also see anything with Toni Collette – one of the more underrated actors we have (she’s excellent as the nameless small town DA). Don’t let the bland title fool you, this is a very worthwhile watch. And I can’t believe I knew the lead Nicholas Hoult from the long-ago Hugh Grant film “About a Boy.” Takes me all the way back.
Perfect for: When you’re ready for a solid, honest drama/thriller with a legit moral question at its core.
Where to watch: You can rent it on Max or Prime, or wait for your next Delta flight.
Food pairing: They probably won’t have ribs on the plane, but somehow feels like they work here. If you want some veggie options, stick with crackers and cheese.
