My Rating: 3.52/4
One line summary: A British rocker who is relaxing in Italy is visited by her former lover and his daughter.
The Deets: This film had so much promise – an incredible cast, an unbeatable setting, and the mystery of what will transpire. Sadly, it never quite comes together. Tilda Swinton is great – isn’t she always? – and Ralph Fiennes is electric; but you never really care so much about what happens to these beautiful people. Maybe that’s the point – we are left disaffected as they are – but I think we are supposed to care and be shocked. And all that said, it’s still worth a watch.
Perfect for: Those who like Ralph Fiennes, and anyone who likes to gaze out into the Italian countryside, and why wouldn’t you want to do that?
Where to watch: You gotta rent it, and you might like it more than I did.
