My Rating: 3.86/4
One line summary: Two brothers in Texas go on a week-long bank robbery spree.
The Deets: I may have cracked double digits in the number of times I’ve watched this one. It’s like the “modern western buddy film” where the brothers use stolen cars instead of horses to rob enough to pull their family out of poverty. The Taylor Sheridan script is fantastic, and David Mackenzie’s direction is spot on, particularly the perfectly attuned soundtrack. One of Jeff Bridges’ best and most underrated performances. Make sure you watch to the very last frame.
Perfect for: Lovers of Westerns, robbery thrillers, Chris Pine, Ben Foster, or Jeff Bridges (especially).
Where to watch: You can this one on Hulu, if you have it. And it should be on your list.
