My Rating: 3.89/4
One line Summary: A perfectionist chef in Hamburg encounters tragedy and love, and must navigate both.
The Deets: The trailer for this film makes it seem like a light-hearted foodie romantic comedy, but it’s grossly misrepresented. This is a movie about love – of our family, of our craft – and it is beautifully told, steering clear of cliche. It was remade in an American version with Catherine Zeta-Jones (“No Reservations”), but this original is far superior. I highly recommend it for a warm evening in.
Perfect for: Foodies, and if you’re craving a German vibe European drama.
Where to watch: You gots to rent it.
