“No Way Out”

My Rating: 3.82/4 (aka Super fun watch)

One line summary: A crime of passion spills into a political coverup.

The Deets: Well they definitely don’t make them like this anymore! This is a late 80s gem, complete with a great Gene Hackman performance (RIP), and a young, slim, on the run Kevin Costner, handsome as ever in those Navy whites. You will laugh at the computer technology, the prominence of corded and pay phones, and the cheesy but thematic music. But pay attention to the end because the payoff is worth it.

Perfect for: If you’re in the mood for a throwback thriller with a kick, long before the prominence of the cellphone and even the internet. Good old fashioned political corruption.

Where to watch: You can rent it on your favorite streaming service, and I suggest you do.

Food pairing: Something seafoody, to go along with the DC area vibe.
